Cats are creatures that often roam in and around small, tight, constricted spaces. Collars for cats require a quick release (QR) mechanism to prevent them from being caught in obstructions and strangling the cat when it maneuvers through these spaces. Such safety collars have traditionally consisted of weak plastic QR buckles that are prone to wearing out rapidly and are often bulky and “aesthetically challenged”.

This design for a feline safety collar consists of a quick release magnetic latching mechanism that provides a secure retention method during normal wear; however will rapidly unlatch when caught in an obstacle preventing the possibility of strangulation to the cat. Additionally, this same novel low-profile and durable mechanism allows for multiple graduated size adjustments to provide a customized fit to a wide variety of cat shapes and sizes without additional bulk or hardware.

Various aesthetically pleasing materials and fabrics are used to construct the body of the collar while custom machine-milled brass hardware ensures a lasting durability for years to come. Each collar also comes with a custom-designed and milled brass hang loop for nametags and additional charms for your beloved cat friend.
