Axxis Rotary Toothbrush
2024 Red Dot Award Recipient
Axxis is a departure from traditional electric toothbrushes. By employing a cylindrical brush-head that spins along a longitudinal axis, teeth can be effectively cleaned like never before. Habitually, the majority of people use a side-to-side brisk scrubbing motion when brushing their teeth. This is not only less effective at removing plaque between teeth and gums, but may also contribute to enamel wear and abrasion over time as well as causing receding gumlines. And with most electric toothbrushes on the market today, they either employ a similar micro-scrubbing or sonic rotational motion which can still lead to micro-abrasions and pushing the gumline to recede.

Rotating bristles gently get into the vertical crevices of teeth and the gumline and literally flick away plaque at high speed leaving teeth refreshingly clean and smooth. A bi-directional thumb switch controls both the intensity and speed of rotation as well as the direction either clockwise (CW) or counter clockwise (CCW) depending on the particular groups of teeth the User is currently brushing, with the aim to always have the bristles rotating away from gumline to teeth and into the mouth to be expunged.

A brush guard protects the delicate linings of the mouth when in operation while also allowing toothpaste to foam and escape into the mouth through the open top and bottom. The rotational motion of the brush-head gently foams any toothpaste adding to the efficacy of the oral cleansing process.
